My good friend Diana gave me this dress. It was 4 sizes too big for her so 2 sizes too big for me. I think she got it from someone in the same circumstance. She said that if anyone could do something with it, I could. I take that challenge! I stopped off at my local discount department store and skimmed the clearance racks. These beauts set me back $5.00.
I cut off the top of the dress and cut off the base of the shorts. I left the edge raw so that I could adhere the back of the shorts to the front of the skirt. One stitch around (actually 2 to make it more even) and I had a new skirt.
Time: 15 minutes
Cost: $5.00
Extra bonus: I took the legs from the “knickers” and made shoe bags for Peter. Orange shoe bags, that is something.
