Merry Christmas Little Fella

These came from a book “Rosie’s Recipes,” which was written in 1997 by Tom Carver. As far as I can see from my Google searches, it’s out of print and not sold anymore. Bummer. This was a super easy recipe and actually the only one I’ve tried. It contained ingredients that I had already on hand. I liked cutting them into “kitties.”

 When I packaged them up for my 4-legged friends, I indicated that they contained wheat. Some dogs are allergic or sensitive to wheat.

  •  ¼ warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbs yeast
  • 8 tsp chicken boulion
  • 1 ½ cups tomato juice
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 2 cups wheat germ
  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  •  Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Mix water, sugar and yeast . Let stand for 5 minutes. Mix in bouillon, then tomato juice, 1 cup of the white flour and wheat germ. Stir till smooth and add remaining flours. Roll to ¼ inch thick and cut with cookie cutter.Bake for 45-60 for larger biscuits. Turn off oven and let sit for up to 4 hours for extra crunchy ones.
